Drawing with Prismacolor takes me a long time. This is partially due to the fact that I layer the color so any given section has multiple layers. The other problem is sometimes I get stuck. With my lion picture, for example, I did the eyes and nose and then had trouble starting on the whiskers and mouth area. I was intimidated and wasn't sure the best way to go about it. Once I got started it went smoothly, I just had to figure out where to start.
So now we come to the next place I got a little stuck. I realized it will be hard to do anymore work on the forehead until I start putting in the mane. In some ways the mane is the easiest part -- it's just lines. But in others it's harder. I have to make it work with the rest of the face and give it depth and make it look like hair with just lines. So I sat and stared at it for a couple days.
Then I stopped being a baby and started lightly outlining where the hair will go. This will show what direction and where the sections are so as I continue to layer with darker and lighter colors I'll have a sort of map.

Um, this is REALLY GOOD.
